Our Armies

Here we will show photo's of (part of) the armies we have. The photo's will appear in historical order.

MEDIEVAL

Starting with the Medieval period, we have two 25mm armies of the 1370 period in the Netherlands; the first is of Brabant, the other army is of the Duke of Guelders. On this moment were are preparing a demo for Crisis Antwerp 2008.

RENAISSANCE

The first renaissance period, also in 25mm, is for the early 16th century. The most times, the Italian Wars are gamed but we think about wargaming the fighting in the Nederthlands as parts of the country rebelled against the Burgundian/Habsburg rulers after the death of Charles the Bold. Only in 1543 peace was restored (Peace of Venlo).

The other main interest is of course the 80 Years war; in 15mm Dutch troops are fighting the Spanish tercios. The armies we have are for the the earlier period up to 1610. We also have some 25mm troops for this conflict. The photo's show 15mm Dutch infantry, cavalry and artillery

HORSE AND MUSKET/NAPOLEONIC PERIOD

Our main interest is the horse and musket period where we have various 7 Years War armies in 15mm. French, Prussian and Reichsarmee troops are already present. Hanoverian, British, Hesse and other German allied troops are in the pipeline as we will have a demo of a 1758 battle in 2008. We use Age of Reason (AOR) but maybe we'll switch to "Die Kriegskunst", an adaption of General de Brigade (see edinburghwargames ).

The photos shows the advance of the Prussian army.

The french revolution is a new period we would love to wargame. Although we still don't know if it will be in 15 or 25mm. Also until now, we haven't find the rules for this period we like. The foto below left shows15mm figures of various manufacturers. Below right are the first (unpainted) figures to show some 25mm figure comparison. Left the new Eureka, right a Mirliton one.

The Napoleonic period is also present with mainly 15mm Peninsular troops (British and Portuguese/Spanish and Franch and allied). We had also a demo of an 1808 battle (Vimeiro). For the 1809 campaign in the Tyrol, the first figures are being painted on this moment.Rules used by us are Shako, we're very anxious to try the new Shako II version in, hopefully, the near future.

FIRST WORLD WAR (1914 PERIOD)

In 20mm we started last year with the early period of the WW1, colourfull French and their British allies have already fought the Prussian attackers in some demos we had in 2007 at the Murphy Mania show and at Crusade. We also had the demo at the Red Barons/Bylandt Convention in Gent this year. See pictures of our table beneath or under "Shows".
