CRISIS SHOW NOVEMBER 6th 2010

We participated in the Crisis Show in Antwerp on November 6th 2010. Perfectly organised by the Tin Soldier of Antwerp club it was a great day. Thanks to all the members of the TSoA for the effort they must have taken to realise this show.
We had a demo of a fictitious battle in India. The scale was 15mm, rules used were "Age of Reason". The battle ws between a small french army with Indian Allies against a British/Indian army. After a picture, we build two war cannon platforms pushed by elephants and towed by oxen (see first picture). It is not known how it possible could be fired but they look good on the wargames table. The information leaflet of our demo can be downloaded here. Some of the photos underneath with thanks to Joe Dever.

There were a lot of other beautiful demos and participation games present. On various websites there are photos of these, go eg to www.tsoa.be .

RED BARONS/BYLANDT GENTBRUGGE 2010 SHOW

In the beginning of April 2010 we participated in this show with our 1809 Demo. Again it was a good show with a lot of clubs participating. It's always good in seeing and speaking to old wargames friends again.

Although it was mentioned that maybe this would be the last RedBarons/Bylandt show the organisers told us that the show will be continued, so a big Hurrah to them.

RHEINDAHLEN WARGAMES CLUB "ACTION 2010" SHOW

In february 2010 we presented our Medieval "Clash of Duke" demo on this show. Sadly it was announced that it will be the last show although maybe still a "meeting of wargames" will be organised.

The show will be missed.

CRISIS ANTWERP TSOA 2009 SHOW

On the 7th of November we presented our "1809: Tyrolean Rebellion" 15mm demo at the Crisis show in Antwerp. As always it was a friendly and exciting show with lots of good presented games and demos. A lot of traders were also there, but as we have already boxes full of unpainted lead (no doubt other wargames will recognise this phenomen), we restricted our expenditures. Congratulations for a great show to all the members of the Tin Soldiers of Antwerp club.

SELWG LONDON

The 17th of October saw us taking the fully packed car and later the chunneltrain to have a trip to GB. At saturday we visited the great Dover castle which is worth a long visit as its Medieval defences plus the guided underground tour is the WW2 HQ are great.

On Suday the 18th we presented our Medieval demo "Clash of Dukes 1368" at the SELWG show at Crystal Park, London on behalf of the Lance and Longbow society. Although not as crowded as expected after 3 years of inactivity by reconstruction, it was a great trip.

Sadly, half of our club (Jan) became ill; we are still in doubt if it was the English breakfast, British seabreeze, the laager on the evening before or just Dutch lack of luck . On our way to London, we visisted Dover castle which in our opinion is a great historical site.
